Essentials
The course that lays the foundation for a Kingdom life.
Essentials is a 29-session foundation for Kingdom living, built around a single conviction: the life Jesus died to give you is available now, not only in eternity. Working from the NET Bible, the course moves in four movements — The Mission, The Power, The Preparation, and The Prize — carrying you from the story you were born into, through how God speaks and empowers the disciple, into the freedom and stability a disciple needs to stand, and finally into knowing God Himself as the point of it all.
Every session pairs explanation with experience: a full teaching built on Scripture, word studies in the original Greek or Hebrew where the argument turns on a specific word, and an honest “What About …” section that takes the hardest objection to what was just taught head-on — then a hands-on experience to close it. Some sessions end in journaling, some in a spoken declaration or a warfare prayer, one in the actual baptism of the Holy Spirit, one in communion. Every session closes with a six-day practice that carries the material past the reading and into the following week, so the point isn’t information you agreed with but a life that’s transformed.
Who Essentials is for
The course is written for four kinds of readers at once: someone brand-new to faith and building their first theological footing; a longtime believer reinforcing what they already hold, more deeply; someone still weighing what they think of Jesus’s claims; and a small group looking for shared material and a shared pace. No prior study is assumed — Session 1 starts from nothing.
The four movements
The Mission (Sessions 1–8) starts with the story you were born into — not your story, God’s, from the Garden mandate to the Kingdom Jesus announced — then works through what it means to be an image-bearer, why the fall required a Savior, the gifts a Father gives His children, why living for Him provokes real opposition (from the surrounding culture and, more uncomfortably, from inside the church), and the competing worldviews every disciple has to choose between. It closes by introducing the question of calling, which Session 8 deliberately leaves open — it points forward to Kingdom Purpose, the standalone course built to answer it in full.
The Power (Sessions 9–15) is about how a disciple actually operates: hearing God’s voice, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and then identity — whose you are, who that makes you, and where you now sit — because power exercised by someone who doesn’t know who they are gets misused, borrowed, or buried out of fear. From there it moves into spiritual authority, prayer, and the weight Scripture puts on what you say out loud.
The Preparation (Sessions 16–22) is the movement most disciples skip and most need: faith, the renewing of the mind, forgiveness and release, the agreements and strongholds that quietly run a life, bondage and demonization named plainly rather than euphemistically, and divine health. It’s called Preparation because none of what came before holds up long-term without it.
The Prize (Sessions 23–29) ends where every disciple should end up: knowing God Himself, not just knowing about Him — His triune nature, what can and can’t be known about Him, and His goodness even where that’s hardest to see. It closes with your own story, the daily rhythms that sustain a Kingdom life, an honest look at how the story ends (Session 28 stakes a considered position and points toward Kingdom Eschatology, the standalone course built to make the full case), and a final, direct call to keep pursuing.
